He joined the Royal Canadian Army and served with the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders during World War II, obtaining the rank of Corporal. Edward was killed in action on August 14, 1944 and is commemorated at the Bretteville-surLaize Canadian War Cemetery in France. Endert Lake southwest of Nueltin Lake was named after him in 1972. ENNS Peter I. WWII Peter was born in Russia in 1917. He joined the Royal Canadian Army and served during World War II transporting war brides from Halifax to Vancouver on the train. He was a member of the British Empire Service League. Peter passed away in 2005. FALLOON, Garnet J. WWII Garnet was born In Fox Warren, MB in 1917 to Mr. and Mrs. Bert Falloon. Before enlisting in 1941, he was manager of Archie Ellis Community Pasture and was starting up his own herd of purebred short horn cattle. Upon enlisting in the Air Force, he trained in Virden, Regina and Brandon. In May 1943, he was promoted to Flying Officer. His duty took him to Ireland, Egypt and back to Britain. Garnet was killed in action on March 21, 1944 and he is buried in Brookwood Military Cemetery in Surrey, England. Falloon Lake, north of Nejanilini Lake, is named after him. ETHIER (MORTON), Marie WWII Marie was born in Grande-Clairière, MB in 1912. She enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army in 1941 and served with the Medical Division in South Africa and Italy.
