He joined the Royal Canadian Army and served with the Princess Patricia’s Light Infantry in Italy. He was wounded in Leonforte, Sicily and sent to a hospital in North Africa. Carl obtained the rank of Private. DARROCK, Merle WWII Merle was born in Carievale, SK in 1917. He joined the Royal Canadian Army and served with the Princess Patricia’s Light Infantry before transferring to the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps. Merle has served in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. DELBROUCK. J.J.P. WWII Private Delbrouck was born in Deleau, MB in 1913. He joined the Royal Canadian Army and served with the Royal Canadian Artillery as a driver and mechanic. DAVIDSON, Allan W. WWII Allan was born on August 15, 1922 in Oak Lake, MB. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army in Winnipeg, MB on October 12, 1942 and served with the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada. He had six months of basic training in Portage la Prairie, MB before being sent overseas to Aldershot, Southern England in May 1943 to complete his training. He arrived in France on June 8, 1944 where he ran over a land mine that caused injuries to his arm and leg which resulted in his being sent by plane to the hospital in Aldershot for 8 months before being sent back to Canada in October 1945. Allan was discharged in December 1945.
