237 The Royal Canadian Legion MANITOBA & NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO COMMAND www.mbnwo.ca WRIGHT, Stanley W. “Stan” WWII Stan was born in Holland, MB in 1920. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy and served onboard HMCS Saguney until it was torpedoed. He transferred to HMCS Jonquier and escorted ships from Halifax to England. He married Lois MacKay of Saskatoon, SK and they had two daughters and a son. After Stan returned home in 1945, he trained as a bricklayer and worked in Winnipeg until 1957, at which time he and his family moved to the United States. After living in Texas and Nevada, they settled in Colorado Springs, Colorado where he formed a masonry company called “The Wright Way”, doing masonry on every new home built in the area. His son Melvin worked in the business with him, and still resides in Colorado. Stan passed away in Colorado Springs on June 20, 1992 and is buried near Pikes Peak, where his wife Lois is also buried. WYROZUB, Ben WWII Ben was born on October 29, 1920. He joined the Royal Canadian Army and served with the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals during World War II. Ben has been a member of Fort William Legion Branch 6 for 62 years. WYWROT, Frank WWII Frank was born on January 31, 1920. He joined the Royal Canadian Army and served with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps during World War II. He was a member of Fort William Legion Branch 6 for 56 years. Frank passed away in 2011. WYROZUB, Mitchell WWII Mitchell was born in 1919. He joined the Royal Canadian Army and served with the Lake Superior Motors during World War II. He was a member of Fort William Legion Branch 6 for thirteen years. Mitchell passed away in 2003.
