233 The Royal Canadian Legion MANITOBA & NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO COMMAND www.mbnwo.ca WILSON, William B. WWI William was born on November 18, 1896 in Pilot Mound, MB. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army in 1914. He served with the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders, 43rd Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force. He went overseas on June 9, 1915. He was wounded in France and sent to a hospital where it was decided that some of the shrapnel could not be removed without endangering his life. He was sent back to Canada and arrived in Winnipeg on January 28, 1919. After the war, he ran a store in Bounty, SK. William passed away in 1960. WILTON, Walter Baron WWI Walter enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army and served with the Canadian Infantry Manitoba Regiment during World War I. He was married to Clara Wilton. Walter was killed in action on August 21, 1917 and is buried in Aix-Noulette Communal Cemetery in France. WOOD, Alvin Clifford WWII Alvin was born in Boissevain, MB in 1918. He joined the Royal Canadian Army and served with the 1st Canadian Infantry Division Signal Corps. He served in England, Holland, North Africa, France, Germany and Italy during World War II. Private Wood passed away in 1968. WISEMAN, Wallace R. WWII Wallace was born in 1926. He joined the Royal Canadian Army and served in the Canadian Infantry during World War II. He was a member of Fort William Legion Branch 6 for 22 years. Wallace passed away in 2002.
