He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served with the No. 7 Bombing and Gunnery School and No. 6 AOS during World War II. Howard passed away in 1996. VATCHER, Leslie G. WWII Leslie was born in Waldersee, MB in 1923. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served with No. 52 Mobile Field Hospital in Holland, Germany and England. Leslie has been a member of Gladstone Legion Branch 110 for 56 years. WALKER, A. J. WWII A. J. Walker was born in Scarth, MB in 1918. He joined the Royal Canadian Army and served with No. 83 Squadron, 413 Squadron and 409 Squadron. Sergeant Walker saw action in England during World War II. WADE, Clarence Edwin WWII Clarence was born on March 7, 1922 in Kirkland Lake, ON. He joined the Royal Canadian Army in 1942 and served with the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada. He was shipped out to Britain but once there he did not meet the requirements for active battle duty and instead served in support roles at various military bases in Britain for the duration of the war. Following his discharge in 1945, he returned to the family farm with his war bride. However, his wife returned to England in 1976 and their marriage dissolved. After the war, he raised beef cattle and drove school buses for many years. Clarence lived in the Anola area until his passing in 1976 from heart disease.
