He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in England, Sicily, Italy and Germany during World War II. He was a member of Morden Legion Branch 11. Lorne passed away in 2003. TRUMBLEY, Robert Joseph WWII Robert was born in Beechy, SK on April 13, 1919. He joined the Royal Canadian Army in 1940 and served with the Regina Rifle Regiment in England, France and Canada. While serving in England, he married Queenie Fairman in 1945. He was awarded the 1939-45 Star, the France and Germany Star, the Defence Medal, the King George VII Medal and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. After his discharge, he and his war bride returned to Canada to his parents’ farm in White Beech, SK and eventually to the Big Woody District, MB where they farmed and raised their five children. He was a member of Swan River Legion Branch 39 and served as President in 1983-84 and 1989. Robert passed away on March 13, 1991 and is buried in the Legion Plot of the Birchwood Cemetery in Swan River, MB. TURNER (DAWN), Hazel I. WWII Hazel was born in Morrin, AB in 1925. She joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and became an equipment assistant. She served her country for a year-and-a-half before being discharged for medical reasons on December 18, 1944. Hazel passed away in 2008. TURNBULL, Walter Andrew WWI & WWII Walter was born in Lauder, MB in 1893. Private Turnbull served in the 18th Reserve Veterans Guard during World War I and in the 18th Reserve Battalion during World War II.
