209 The Royal Canadian Legion MANITOBA & NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO COMMAND www.mbnwo.ca TCHIR, Nikolas WWII Nikolas was born in Winnipeg, MB in 1923. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1942 and served with No. 435 Squadron in England, Burma and India. After his discharge in 1946, he returned to Hazelridge, MB where he farmed and raised his family. His awards include the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp, the 1939-45 Star, the Burma Star and the War Medal 1939-45. Nikolas was a founding member of Hazelridge Legion Branch 146, and as a Life Member continued to serve his branch and his community until his death in 2004. TEICHRIB, George WWII George was born in Morden, MB on November 9, 1918. He joined the Royal Canadian Army and served during World War II. George passed away in 1987. TEMPLE (UNGER), Angela L. SPECIAL DUTY AREA Angela was born in Ottawa, ON in 1965. She joined the Royal Canadian Army enrolling as an air traffic control assistant before retraining as a dental assistant. Corporal Temple joined the Intelligence Branch and worked at Land Force Command Headquarters as well as No. 433 Squadron Operations. She deployed to Turkey, Norway, Goose Bay, and marched in Nijmegen in July 1998. In 1997, she married James Temple. In 1998, she was posted to 2 Electronic Warfare Squadron in Kingston, ON. Her first deployment was to Coralici, Bosnia from January to August 1999. Sergeant Temple worked as the Canadian Defence Attaché Assistant in Bogota, Columbia. In 2005, Warrant Officer Temple was posted to 1 Canadian Air Division Headquarters in Winnipeg, MB. Employed as a senior intelligence analyst she deployed to southwest Asia from November 2006 to June 2007. TEICHRIB, William WWII William was born in Morden, MB in 1921. He joined the Royal Canadian Army and was killed in action in 1944 during World War II.
