He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army on November 24, 1942 and was discharged in Winnipeg on July 11, 1946. Bombardier Pruden was stationed at the Fort Osborne Barracks in Winnipeg, then to A1 Canadian Artillery Training Centre in Petawawa, ON. After his discharge, he was employed at Dominion Bridge in Winnipeg as a template developer. Wilford has been a member of Selkirk Legion Branch 42 for 64 years. READ, Lorne WWII Lorne was born in Virden, MB in 1919. He joined the Royal Canadian Army and was still in training in Canada when the war ended. He was a member of Virden Legion Branch 8. Lorne passed away in 1986. RINK, Edward R. WWII Edward was born in the Plumas District, MB on January 15, 1919. He served with the Royal Canadian Army during World War II. Edward was killed in action in Italy in 1943. RICCI, Lenard A. WWII Lenard was born on October 13, 1925 in Rainy River, ON to Arthur Victor and Margaret Ricci. Prior to enlisting he worked for Canada Car in Fort William, ON and sailed on the Great Lakes. On January 11, 1942, at the age of 17, he joined the Royal Canadian Army. He took trade school in Saskatoon, SK for one year before being transferred to the Royal Canadian Air Force and then to the Royal Air Force in England. He was assigned to the 59th Royal Air Force Squadron, Liberator Bomber Command as an air gunner in Coastal Command. Flight Sergeant Ricci served in England and Ireland before he was discharged in March 1946. After the war, he went into the local newspaper business until he retired in 1990. Lenard has been a member of Major Hughes Legion Branch 54 for 30 years.
