He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in England during World War II. He was a member of Fort William Legion Branch 6 for 39 years. Harold passed away in 2002. POTTER, Allan D. WWII Allan was born on December 14, 1919. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served as a wireless tail gunner in Burma. He was awarded the 1939-45 War Medal, the Burma Star, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and the Defence Medal. Allan passed away in 2005. PRIESTON, Felix A. WWII Felix was born in Sturgeon Falls, ON in 1911 to William and Eula Prieston. He joined the Royal Canadian Army and served with Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry and the Regina Rifle Regiment. He was killed in action on June 19, 1944 and is buried in the Bény-sur-Mer Canadian War Cemetery in Calvados, France. Prieston Lake, east of Elbow Lake, was named after him in 1958. POTTER, James K. WWII James was born in Pilot Mound, MB in 1916. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and trained in Penhold, AB. He completed Navigation School at Rivers, MB and left to go overseas where he was stationed in Oban, Scotland with No. 422 Sunderland Squadron. James was killed in action in Scotland on December 19, 1942 and is commemorated at the Runnymede Memorial in Surrey, England. Potter Lake, northeast of Grandmother Lake, is named after him.
