He joined the Royal Canadian Army and served with the 1st Field Park Company Engineers in Germany, France, Holland and Belgium. Stephen passed away in 2011. JACKSON, Richard WWII Richard was born in Hartney, MB in 1924. He joined the Royal Canadian Army. In 1946, he was discharged and transferred to the Reserve General Class E. He was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and the Royal Canadian Air Force Reserve Badge. JOHNSON, Benedikt I. WWI Benedikt was born in Morden, MB on November 30, 1919. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1943 and served during World War II until his discharge in 1945. He married Sally Cochan in 1943 and they had one son, John Byron. He lived in Vancouver until his death on April 29, 1951. JACOBS, Robert Leonard WWI Robert was born in Cirencester, Gloucester, England on May 24, 1882 and immigrated to Canada on April 20, 1907. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army on December 22, 1914 and served with the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force, 44th Battalion in France and Belgium. On April 9, 1917, he was seriously wounded and spent the remainder of his service in various military hospitals in England until being sent back to Canada on February 4, 1918. He was discharged on October 15, 1918 following his therapy and final medical review. In November 1945, he was part of the committee that organized the building of an altar at St. Matthew’s Church as a memorial to members of the 44th Battalion who lost their lives in World War I. Robert passed away on October 25, 1954 from injuries suffered when he was accidentally hit by a streetcar.
