He joined the Army and served with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps in Europe. He was a member of Fort William Legion Branch 6 for 53 years. Carl passed away in 2003. HOLINATY, Mike Dmetro WWII Mike was born in Whitebeech, SK on July 19, 1919 to Dmetro and Olena Holinaty. He grew up on the family farm along with his five siblings. He went to school and worked on the family farm until the age of 20. He joined the Royal Canadian Army, trained in Vancouver, and served in Germany and Holland during World War II. After staying in the Army for five years, he returned home to work on the family farm in the summer and on the sawmills during the winter. On November 13, 1948, he married Olga Kosolowsky and they had two sons. Mike continued farming in Whitebeech until the age of 65. In 1984, Mike and Olga moved to Swan River. He had been a member of Swan River Legion Branch 39. Mike passed away on October 27, 2010. HOSEGOOD, George W. WWII George was born in 1924. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served as a Flying Officer in Southeast Asia. He received the Burma Star. He was a member of Fort William Legion Branch 6 for 52 years before he passed away in 2009. HONEYSET, Arthur WWII Arthur was born in 1921. He joined the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve and served in the Atlantic during World War II. Arthur has been a member of Fort William Legion Branch 6 for 18 years.
