WWI Alfred joined the Canadian Army during World War I and served with the 222nd Battalion, then was drafted into the 44th Battalion, followed by the 16th M. G. Company. He fought at Vimy, Avion, Lens, Hill 70 and Passchendaele. Alfred suffered a shrapnel injury on October 28, 1917 and spent time in hospital in Rouen and at the Metropolitan Hospital in London. GRIEVE, Walter WWII Walter was born in 1921 in Lauder, Manitoba. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and served during World War II. GUNDERSON, Roald Benjamin WWII Roald was born in Saskatchewan on June 20, 1926. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served with 426 Squadron during World War II. Roald was killed in action on March 5, 1945 and is buried in Berlin, Germany. GUINET, Gabriel WWI Gabriel was born in 1880 in Fontenay, Le Comte, France. During World War I, he joined the French Army and served in France. He was a POW in Germany for eight months and he was awarded the French Croix de Guerre. Gabriel was a Life Member of Hartney Legion Branch 26 prior to his death in 1971.
