WWII Richard joined the Canadian Army during World War II and served in Bermuda, Jamaica and Hong Kong with the Winnipeg Grenadiers. DANE, Allan Harland WWII Allan was born on January 3, 1926 in Fairfax, Manitoba. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1943 and served in Canada only because of his young age. He spent time in Dauphin, Rivers, Regina, Winnipeg and Portage la Prairie and was in charge of purchasing supplies for his unit. In 1946, Allan married Dorothy Jackson of Portage la Prairie and they have been married for more than 64 years. They raised seven children. Allan and Dorothy moved to Levack after the war where he worked for Imco as a purchasing clerk until his retirement. DAVIS, Stanley W. KOREA Stanley was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1930. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy on June 18, 1948, took his basic training at HMCS Naden in Esquimalt, British Columbia, and his communications training at HMCS Stadacona in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Stanley served on HMCS Ontario, Beacon Hill and then HMCS Cayuga and Crusader, both destroyers serving in Korea. He spent a total of 18 months on these ships and returned to Canada in the summer of 1953. He was discharged at HMCS Naden and returned to Winnipeg, joining the Reserves at HMCS Chippawa where he was involved in training WRCNs in Radio and Visual Communications. Stanley worked for the Federal Government in the Department of Transport and Communications until November 1, 1985 and has been a member of Stonewall Legion Branch 52 for more than thirty-six years. DANE, Lawrence H. WWII Lawrence was born on June 1, 1920 in Fairfax, Manitoba. He joined the 71st Field Battery of the Royal Canadian Army in December 1939 in Brandon, Manitoba. His unit was sent to England in January 1940 where he received his training. He spent the war serving in Italy, Belgium and Holland. After returning to Canada, he worked in Calgary in construction. Lawrence passed away in July 1997.
