He joined the Army and served in Canada with the Royal Canadian Engineers during WWII. Michael was awarded the War Medal 1939-45 and he died in 1973. CHUBEY, William WWII William was born in Carlowrie in 1916. He joined the Canadian Army and served with the 3rd Battalion, Irish Fusiliers at Shilo, Manitoba, Vancouver, British Columbia, Calgary, Alberta, and in British Columbia at Vernon and Nanaimo. He received the War Medal 1939-45. William died in 2001. CLARK, Harry WWI Harry joined the Canadian Army during World War I and served in England and France with the 43rd Cameron Highlanders and the 16th Canadian Scottish. CHUDLEY, Albert Cleaveland “Cleave” WWI & WWII Cleave was born on December 12, 1892 in Exeter City in Devon, England and he came to Canada in 1911. He worked in the Neepawa area until he enlisted in 1915 in “C” Company of the 226th Battery and trained at Camp Hughes. After landing in England, he took more training and joined the 16th Scottish. Cleave served in Canada, England and France and at the end of the war, was one of the last men to return home. He bought a farm in the Brookdale area through the Veterans Land Act, married twice and had six children. During World War II, Cleave was made Captain of the local group of the 12th Dragoons. He was a member of Neepawa Legion Branch 23 until he passed away on March 17, 1961.
