Company, and fought at the battles of Vimy Ridge and Lens. He was killed in action at Triangle, near Lens, in 1917 and he rests in Flanders’ Fields. WALKER, Ernest W. WWII Ernest was born in Dauphin, Manitoba in 1913. He was a teacher when he enlisted in the Canadian Army. He trained and went to Nova Scotia where he worked in the Army stores for the duration of the war. Ernest then returned to teaching. WALTERS, Glyn WWII Glyn was born to John and Elizabeth Walters of Emo, Ontario. He joined the Royal Canadian Army and served during World War II with the South Saskatchewan Regiment. Glyn was killed in action on July 20, 1944 in Calvados, France. WALLACE, Earle R. WWII Earle was born in 1922 in Golden Stream, Manitoba. He joined the Army and served as an Anti-tank gunner with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry in England, North Africa, Italy and Holland. Earle was awarded the 1939-45 Star, the Italy Star, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp, the War Medal 1939-45 and the Defence Medal. He was a member of Gladstone Legion Branch 110 for thirty-five years and he died in 1985.
