He joined the Seaforth Highlanders, 1st Division, and served in Canada, England, Italy and Northwest Europe. Jack was the local Chairman of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers for many years and he was a member of Kenora Legion Branch 12 for more than fifty-five years. STEPHENS, Frank James WWII Frank was born in 1902 in Bristol, England. He joined the Royal Canadian Army during World War II and served in Canada, Europe, North Africa, in the Pacific, Burma, Italy, France and Germany with 71/113 Battery, 8th Field Regiment, of the Royal Canadian Artillery. Staff Sergeant Stephens had also received orders to escort POWs to Canada. He was awarded the War Medal 1939-45, the Atlantic Star, the Europe Star, the Africa Star, the Pacific Star, the Burma Star, the Italy Star, and the France and Germany Star. Frank was a member of General Hugh Dyer Legion Branch 138 in Minnedosa and he passed away in 1974. STIRRETT, Everett Herbertson WWI Everett was born on September 29, 1894. He joined the Canadian Infantry during World War I and served with the 52nd Battalion of the Manitoba Regiment. Everett was killed in France on January 15, 1918 and he is buried in the cemetery in Pas de Calais. STEWART, Lloyd J. S. WWII Lloyd was born in 1909 in Woodmore, Manitoba. He joined the Army and served in the 18th Armoured Car Regiment and the XII Manitoba Dragoons in Canada, the United Kingdom and Europe. He was a member of Roseau Valley Legion Branch 160 and Dominion City Legion Branch for thirty-five years. Lloyd passed away in 1985.
