He joined the Canadian Army and served during World War I. Richard died in 1927. ROBERTSON, John R. WWI John was born on March 5, 1883 in Helensburgh, Scotland. He joined the Army during World War I and served in France and Belgium with the 44th Battalion. John was a member of Birtle Legion Branch 55 prior to his death on November 10, 1976. ROBINSON, William Thomas WWII William, of Pine Falls, Manitoba, was born in 1920. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served with 517 Squadron in Canada, England and Europe where he was killed in action on February 24, 1944 at the age of 24. Flying Officer Robinson is commemorated at Blacon Cemetery in Cheshire, England. Thomas Robinson Lake, east of Corbett Lake, was named after him in 1995. ROBINSON, Russell G. WWII Russell, of Manigotagan (Pine Falls), Manitoba, joined the Army and served with the Royal Canadian Artillery in Canada, England and Europe where he was killed in action on April 12, 1945. Leading Bombardier Robinson is commemorated at Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery in Holland. Robinson Narrows in Cuthbert Lake, was named after him in 1995.
