He joined the Army during WWII and served in Canada, England, Italy and Northwest Europe with the Canadian Dental Corps. Erle passed away in 1972. MITCHELL, Reginald Walter WWI Reginald was born on January 31, 1898. He enlisted on February 14, 1917 with the Canadian Army Service Corps and was sent to Kentville, Nova Scotia before sailing to England on the Vanderland. He landed at Liverpool, took drivers’ training at Shorncliffe and sailed from Folkestone to Le Havre, France. Reginald camped on a hill where there were 16 men to a Bell tent and they had one blanket each. It was very cold and damp. From there, he went to Ypres, France and drove for “A” Company, C. R. T. for 18 months. After Reginald contracted Trench fever, he returned to England and Canada and was honourably discharged in 1918. Reginald farmed for the next 65 years and he died on March 11, 1983. MOLKOSKI, William WWII William was born in 1918. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Regiment of Canada and served during World War II. William was a member of Fort William Legion Branch 6 for fifty-two years before he passed away in 2009. MOFFATT, Claire A. WWII Claire was born in 1923 in Strathclair, Manitoba. He joined the Canadian Navy from March 11, 1943 and was an Able Seaman. He did his basic training in Esquimalt, British Columbia and served on a number of ships based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia, including the Nadeau, Wentworth, Peregrine and the Stadacona. He was honourably discharged on September 7, 1945 and was awarded the 1939-45 Star, the Atlantic Star, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp and the War Medal 1939-45.
