He enlisted in the Army in World War I and served in Canada with the Hartney Platoon of the 222nd Battalion. McBURNEY, Terence J. PEACETIME Terence was born in Deloraine, Manitoba in 1945. He served as Lieutenant in Canada teaching at the St. Jean Military College in Petawawa. McCOLM, Harold W. WWII Harold was born in 1921 in Deloraine, Manitoba. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and did his training in Winnipeg. Harold served with 77 Squadron in England and Europe where he was killed in action in 1941. Harold is commemorated at the Kiel War Cemetery in Germany and McColm Island in Goose Lake was named after him in 1995. McCANN, James Patrick WWI James joined the 45th Battalion then was drafted into the 5th (Western Cavalry) Battalion and served at Ypres Salient, St. Éloi, Sanctuary Wood and Hooge, Germany. James was killed in action in 1916 at the Battle of the Somme.
