He joined the Army and served as a Lance Corporal in England and France with the 45th and 79th Battalions during World War I. McARTER, Harry E. WWI Harry was born in Hartney, Manitoba in 1862. He joined the Army and served in London, Bramshott, Witney and Ripon with the 79th Battalion then transferred to the Paymaster General Office. Harry died in 1945. McARTER, Morley WWII Morley was born in Hartney, Manitoba in 1924. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in Bermuda, Iceland and Wick, Scotland with Ferry Command, Coastal Command RCAF, 162 (BR) Squadron and Bomber Reconnaissance. Master Warrant Officer McArter retired in 1976 after thirty-four years of service. McARTER, Jas WWI Jas was born in 1863 in Blythe, Seaforth, Ontario. He joined the Army during World War I and served with the Canadian Army Medical Corps at the Ontario Military Hospital in Orpington. He also served with the Canadian Engineers. Jas was a Charter Member of Hartney Legion Branch 26 in 1926 and a G. W. V. A. member. He died in 1936.
