Battery during World War II. Philip was a member of Fort William Legion Branch 6 for thirtysix years before he passed away in 2005. JENSEN, Paul B. WWII Paul was born in 1918 in Denmark. He joined the Canadian Army and served at Camp Borden, England and Germany during World War II. Paul passed away in 1958. JOHNSON, Raymond George WWII Raymond was born in Souris, Manitoba in 1919. He enlisted at Portage la Prairie on April 24, 1942 and served in England, Italy and Holland with the 6th Field Regiment and 2 R.C.A. during WWII. Gunner Johnson was married on September 18, 1944 to a war bride and they returned to Canada in 1945, the year he was discharged on November 12. Employed by the Canadian Pacific Railway until he retired in 1980, Raymond was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for 45 years. He died in 1990 and is survived by his wife and three sons. JOHNSON, Maurice Henry WWII Maurice is thought to have been born in Liverpool, England in 1919 and he came to Canada with his parents and siblings when he was about seven years old. He joined the Army and served as a Gunner in France and Belgium with the Winnipeg Rifles, 3rd Division under General Mountbatten. He was among the men who were to take the German sub port out. After the war in 1946, he returned to his wife Violet and daughter Marlene in Manitoba and they eventually got a farm in the Ewart district through the Veterans Land Act. In the mid-50s, the family moved to Brandon where he worked at several jobs, including one at Camp Shilo from where he retired in 1979 or 1980 as an Income and Outflow Records person. Maurice and Violet retired to Virden where they lived until they passed away, Maurice on February 21, 1991 and Violet in 2002.
