327 Dave’s distinguished career in the RCMP spanned more than three decades, starting in 1980 and culminating in his retirement in 2014. He started his career in Burnaby, British Columbia and spent the remainder of his career working in various places throughout Canada. His career included highlights such as serving on the security details for Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles III when he had visited Canada as then-Prince of Wales with Princess Diana, Pope John Paul II, U.K. Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and former U.S. Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton; as wells as many other VIPs. David also served as Policing and Forensic Instructor at the Justice Institute of British Columbia, BCIT, and various other colleges and universities. He was qualified to instruct in twenty-seven different specialties across the spectrum of policing and forensic science. Among his many career milestones, David contributed to the development of provincial laws on police pursuits. His many community contributions include serving as former Sergeant-At-Arms for the Westbank Legion and Past President of the Peachland Legion.
