323 � major retired orlando delong Orland Delong joined the Canadian Armed Forces as an Artilleryman in 1972. From there, he was promoted to Master Warrant Officer, then Captain, before retiring from Canadian Forces Base Edmonton in 2003 with the rank of Major. Orland is a Veteran of the Cold War, having served in Canada, the United States, Germany, and Norway. He is also a member of the Order of St. John, one of five national orders in the Canadian Honours System (the others being The Order of Canada, Order of Military Merit, Order of Merit of the Police Forces, and the Royal Victorian Order). Orland is also a Certified Human Resource Professional with national accreditation. He has dedicated his life to service— with thirtyone years of service to the Canadian Armed Forces and dedication to the Order of St. John. He has been a Legion member for the past forty-nine years.
