89 Travelling in the highest social circles, Edwards was an enthusiastic Militia officer with 17 years’ experience and Militia staff training. His summer cottage would later become the Canadian prime minister’s summer residence on Harrington Lake. A capable battalion commander, Edwards would earn three Distinguished Service orders and was the longest serving infantry battalion commanders in the CEFwith 666 days at the front.
