With his parents, he came to Southern Alberta around 1927 to farm in the Telford District northwest of Millet, Alberta. He served in the Army inWorldWar One with the 13 Military District, 1st Depot Battalion Alberta Regiment. Ashwell, Bob Bob was born in 1920 in Viking, Alberta. He served in World War Two from 1939 to 1942 as a Navigator in the Royal Air Force. He was shot down on his second trip over Germany and died on August 27, 1942. Ashwell, George George was born in 1899 in Tanarive, Madagascar. He enlisted in 1914 in the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. He served overseas in France and Germany and was wounded many times. George and his wife returned to Viking in 1919 and bought a farm under the Soldier Settlement Board. He died in 1973. George was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Viking Branch 81.
