Military Service Recognition Book Volume XVI 50 ALBERTA GUIDE DOGS VICD Service Dogs Alberta a division of Alberta Guide Dogs provides a fully certified Operational Stress Injury Service Dog, at no cost, to our injured Veterans in Alberta. Veterans and their Service Dogs complete our accredited 52-week Healthy Community Living program and, as a graduate, receive ongoing support for the working life of their dog. This is the cornerstone of our success. The positive outcomes of training with an OSI-PTSD Service Dog are without question. Overwhelmingly, graduates express that with the assistance of their certified Service Dogs, they have been able to mitigate their OSI-PTSD symptoms. Our comprehensive program and hands-on training with our clients give them the confidence to re-integrate into society and, most importantly, interact in healthy ways with their family, friends, and the community they live. For more information on how your individual Legion branch can help support Veterans through this life changing program, please contact VICD’s Executive Director Mike Annan, (236) 628-1757, mike.annan@bcguidedog.com VETERANS COMMITMENT TO VICD SERVICE DOGS Alberta A Division of Alberta Guide Dogs
