Serving in the Canadian Women’s Army Corps (CWAC) in England during World War Two, she drove ambulances and shuttled officers around in trucks and jeeps. Dorothy’s four brothers also served in the Army duringWorldWar Two. She was a Charter Member of The Royal Canadian Legion Hinton Branch 249 where she maintained her membership for 54 years. Dorothy died in 2004. Woodley, Edward Kenneth “Ted” Ted was born in Edmonton in 1924. He served in the Army during World War Two and was injured and taken prisoner by the Germans in Czechoslovakia. Ted managed to escape and was flown to England to recover from his injuries. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Canmore Branch 3 for thirty years. His sister and three brothers also served in the Army during World War Two. Ted died in 1980. Woodley, Harold Russell Harold was born in Entrance, Alberta in 1921. He served as a Gunner with the Light Anti-Aircraft Division in England, Holland, Germany and on the Normandy Beaches during World War Two and for one year in Holland, Belgium, and France after the War ended. Harold’s sister and three brothers also served in the Army during World War Two. Harold was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Hinton Branch 249. He died in 2006.
