He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in July 1943 and was stationed at Pearce, Alberta and on the west coast. Donald was discharged on November 30, 1944. Donald was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Ponoka Branch 66 for six years. Donald died on July 21, 1983. Wilson, H. H. Wilson was an Irma and District Veteran and he died in active service. No further information was available. Wilson, James James was born in Bonhill, Scotland. His family immigrated to Canada in 1911 and settled in Rocky Mountain House where he and his mother worked at Pulson’s Restaurant. When he was eighteen years old, James enlisted in the Army and served in France with “A” Company, Alberta Regiment, 31st Battalion. James was killed in action on September 27, 1916, likely during the Battle of the Somme. He has no known grave. James’ name is inscribed on the Vimy Memorial.
