He enlisted inWorldWar Two with the Navy and served aboard the Wetaskiwin, a minesweeper. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Ponoka Branch 66. Robert died in 2000. Watson, William “Willie” Willie was born in 1878. He enlisted in the Army Reserve Unit in 1912, and along with seventeen other Viking men, traveled to Calgary to train with the 19th Dragoons Unit. He became Captain of the group and he trained the men to use swords while on horses. Willie retired to Vancouver, British Columbia and died there in 1957. Willie was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Viking Branch 81. Watson, William John “Whipper” Whipper was born in Jasper, Alberta in 1925. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War Two as a tail gunner on a Lancaster bomber. Whipper was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Jasper Branch 31 and later, Ashcroft Branch 113 in BC. He died in 2000.
