He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1942 and served with the rank of Aircraftman 2 but received a medical discharge shortly afterward. After his discharge, he eventually worked in the Millet Creamery and in 1957, became the manager. In 1962, he was transferred to Daysland, Alberta and in 1973, to St. Paul, Alberta. Don was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Millet Branch 229 for fifteen years. He died on June 4, 1989. Wakelin, James James was born in 1883 in England. He enlisted in the British Army on April 4, 1915 and remained in the services as a Farrier Sergeant until his discharge from the Royal Field Artillery on March 31, 1920. After his discharge on March 25, 1927, James sailed to Canada on the SS Montcalm to farm in Viking, Alberta. He helped many cattle and horse farmers with his veterinary skills. James died on December 10, 1965. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Viking Branch 81. Walters, Ernest Ernest was born in 1896 in Derbyshire, England. He signed up at the age of nineteen as a member of the 7th Indian Division and served for three and a half years. He came to Canada after his discharge in 1923, but moved back to England in 1937. He returned to Viking ten months later. He died on January 25, 1982. Ernest was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Viking Branch 81.
