Russell enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War Two and attained the rank of Pilot Officer with the Bison Squadron. Russell served six years from 1939 to 1945. He was killed in action on March 6, 1945 returning from an operation over Europe when his plane crashed in dense fog over Kent, England. Russell is buried in the Canadian Cemetery, Brookwood in Surrey, England. His wife also served in the RCAF in World War Two. Streit, Adolf Adolf was born April 19, 1920. He joined the Army in 1939 and returned to Viking in 1945. He died February 12, 1981. Adolf was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Viking Branch 81. Studholme, Cliff Cliff was born June 14, 1923, in Camrose, Alberta. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy in 1942 and served on the frigate HMCS Thetford Mines. He obtained his fourth-class boiler papers. He was discharged on October 19, 1945. He came to Viking and worked as a carpenter, on the oil field rigs, and finally at the Viking Creamery, eventually becoming plant superintendent. Cliff died on April 30, 1969. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Viking Branch 81.
