He enlisted in 1942 in the Rocky Mountain Rangers and transferred later to the Black Watch Regiment. He served in the Aleutian Islands, England, Holland, and other parts of Europe. Harry began his service with the Rocky Mountain Rangers in the Aleutian Islands. In 1944, while he was training in England, his regiment was divided and he was sent to the Black Watch Regiment. He could vividly recall every battle, including Dunkirk, Antwerp, and Beveland Peninsula, and fighting in towns near Brussels, the Nijmegen Front in Holland, the Reichwald Forest, Groningan, Oldenberg, and Nordenham, which was where Harry was when the war ended. Harry arrived back in NewYork in January 1946 with 16, 000 other soldiers. He boarded one of the eighteen trains which left for Canada. Harry was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Ponoka Branch 66 for fifty years. He died in 2001. Stephens, Henry Arthur Henry was born in Edmonton on July 28, 1906. He served with the 19th Alberta Dragoons between 1923 and September 1940 when he joined the Edmonton Regiment. He was posted overseas where he was wounded twice before he returned to Alberta in 1945. Henry died in Stony Plain in 1972. Stevenson, Alex Alex was born in Viking, Alberta. He was a Private in the Army in World War One and he died in action. Alex was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Viking Branch 81.
