He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Kinsella Branch 222. Smith, Dr. Clarence Clarence was born on August 14, 1922, in Jarrow, Alberta and was raised at Millet, Alberta from 1930 to 1933. During World War Two, Clarence served overseas as a Signalman in the Signal Corps for three years. After the war, he practiced as a Veterinarian in Pincher Creek and in Medicine Hat. In 1992, he was awarded Citizen of the Year in Medicine Hat. Clarence was heavily involved in humanitarian work in El Salvador, Jamaica, and Romania and with CUSO in China. Clarence died in Medicine Hat on June 9, 2001, at 78 years of age. His brothers also served in World War Two. Smith, Kenneth Read Kenneth was born on the family homestead in the Dovercourt District, Alberta in 1917. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1940 and trained as an Observer before being sent overseas in 1941 with the rank of Flying Officer. Kenneth flew a number of operational missions over Europe before he was killed over Holland on the night of January 3, 1943. He is buried in Holland.
