He served with the Canadian Army in World War Two and was discharged in 1946. He moved to British Columbia and die on June 28, 1989. Carl was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Viking Branch 81. Sidey, William William was born in Kettins Parish, Forfarshire, Scotland on October 16, 1895. After coming to Canada, he enlisted in the 187th Central Alberta Overseas Battalion in May 1916 and went to England in December of that year. William arrived in France in March 1917 as part of reinforcements sent to 83 Battery and was posted to 2nd Canadian Divisional Ammunition Depot. He fought at Vimy Ridge, and after joining 6th Brigade Canadian Field Ambulance, was gassed on September 6, 1918. He was diagnosed with Nephritis and discharged on June 24, 1919. William suffered for the rest of his life with gas damaged lungs. After the war, he ranched in the Consort, Alberta area where he raised prize-winning Shorthorn cattle. William died on August 13, 1962, in Olds, Alberta. Simons, Robert W. Robert was born in Stettler, Alberta in May 1917. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1943 and served as a radar operator in Scotland with the rank of Leading Aircraftman. Robert was awarded the War Medal 1939-1945 and the Defence Medal. He was a very active member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 169 in Boyle for more than 20 years and was made a Life Member. Robert passed away in November 2008.
