His family moved to Alberta when he was just two years old and he grew up in Provost, Consort, and Camrose. Leslie was a wireless operator and air gunner with the rank of Sergeant, serving with the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War Two. He was killed in action when his bomber was shot down over Dusseldorf, Germany, in 1944. Ruhl, Melvin Albert Melvin was born in Hanover, Ontario in 1921. His family moved to Provost, Alberta in 1922 and, except for his war service, he lived in Alberta for the rest of his life. Melvin enlisted in the Royal CanadianAir Force in 1941 and served in Canada until the end of WorldWar Two withWest Coast Defence as a signalman stationed in Tofino and Ucluelet, British Columbia, doing Coastline Patrol. After mustering out of the RCAF with the rank of Corporal in 1946, Melvin worked in Tourism and public service. He died in 1990. Runyon, Marvil Marvil was born in Leduc, Alberta. He served in the Army during World War Two and he died on October 5, 1970.
