He served in the Army during World War Two in the North Atlantic area, the United Kingdom, and Continental Europe. Harold was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 1 in Calgary for eleven years. He passed away in Calgary in 1980. Lee, Hugh Hugh came to Calgary from England when he was 15. He joined the Northwest Mounted Police and went to South Africa during the South African War. Hugh was wounded twice and returned to Calgary in 1887. In 1911, he moved to a new home west of Caroline, Alberta he named the “Dovercourt Ranch”, after the estate in England where he was born. Hugh and his wife had the first Post Office at Dovercourt and he was the first Justice of the Peace in the district. Lewis, William John Rowland Rowland Lewis was born on January 17, 1897, in Newport, Monmouthshire, South Wales. He served in the British Cavalry during World War One. Rowland immigrated to Canada after the war but returned to Newport in 1923 to marry and bring his wife to Canada. He homesteaded in the Butte district in April 1939, but he left to join the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1942. Rowland served until 1945 and then returned to Butte to resume farming. He passed away in October 1961.
