He enlisted in the Army in November 1942 and was sent first to Calgary, AB and then to Esquimalt, BC. In January 1943, Gordon was sent for training to Nanaimo, BC and his regiment, the 46th Light Anti-Aircraft Battery, Royal Canadian Artillery, was sent with an American contingent to Kiska in the Aleutian Islands in July 1943. He returned to Colwood Camp near Victoria late in 1943, and in April 1944 he was sent to England for further training. Gordon then served in France, Belgium, and Holland until he returned to Canada early in 1946 and was discharged. He was awarded the France and Germany Star and the War Medal 1939-1945. Gordon and his wife Amelia attended a celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the Liberation of Holland in 1986. Gordon was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion H.A. Calhoun Memorial Branch 225 in Foremost, Alberta. He passed away in 1997. Higginson, Gordon Kenneth Gordon was born on July 5, 1918, in Millet, Alberta where he lived until he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1942. He served during World War Two as a Sergeant and physical trainer for three years until 1945. After the war ended, he became a psychiatrist in Oregon, USA. Gordon passed away in 1984. Holdsworth, Wilfred Wilfred was likely living in the Lougheed or Coronation regions of Alberta when he enlisted in the 51st Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force in 1915. He served during World War One with the rank of Sergeant. No further information is available.
