He worked for his father’s frozen locker business until he joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1944. Glen served on the North Atlantic as a submarine chaser in World War Two before taking his release in 1946. He then worked as a gardener at the hospital in Claresholm before working with the Alberta Fire Service in Grande Prairie, Lethbridge, Fort McMurray, and Evansburg. Glen was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 146 in Evansburg for 62 years, serving as Service Officer, 1st Vice-President, 2nd Vice-President, President, and Poppy Chairman. He was always deeply involved in November 11 Poppy Sales and Remembrance Day celebrations. Glen passed away in December 2008. Hazen, Dwight Ralph “Dick” Dick was born on May 8, 1919, in Caroline, Alberta. He enlisted in the Army in 1941 and took his basic training in Red Deer, Alberta. Dick was stationed in Alberta and Ontario, working in transportation and repairing equipment. He also trained others to do repairs. After WorldWar Two, Dick lived in Douglas, Ontario. He passed away on April 22, 1998. His brother also served in the Army during World War Two. Hazen, Gene Jasper Gene was born on July 22, 1924, in Caroline, Alberta. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps in November 1941 when he was 17 years old. He trained in Red Deer, Alberta before being deployed to Scotland and England. Gene served with the Occupation Forces in the Netherlands until he was discharged in 1946 with the rank of Corporal. After the war, Gene moved to Kingston, Ontario. He passed away on November 5, 1992. His brother also served in the Army during World War Two.
