THE ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION ALBERTA-NWT COMMAND www.abnwtlegion.com 151 Fulcher, Howard John Howard was born on December 10, 1919, in Edmonton, Alberta and raised in the Wiesenthal District near Millet, Alberta where he went to school. He later attended the Agricultural College in Olds, Alberta. Howard enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in October 1941 and after completing his Basic training in Ontario, was posted to England in November 1942. He served as an AC2 for four years until his discharge in 1945 when he returned to Edmonton, Alberta. Howard then enrolled at the University of Alberta in Edmonton and studied Agriculture. Upon his graduation, he was employed as the District Agriculturist at Olds where he became a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 195 for many years. He passed away in 1973. Howard’s sister Kathleen also served during World War Two. Furuness, Arnold Arnold was born in Butte, North Dakota, USA on August 6, 1916. In 1927, he came with his parents and family to settle in the Sparling District east of Millet, Alberta. Arnold served during World War Two from 1940 to 1945 as a Sergeant in the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers in England, Holland, France and Germany. Arnold passed away on October 31, 1952. His brothers Ernest and Helmer also served in the Canadian Forces during World War Two. Furuness, Ronald John Ronald was born on March 27, 1943. He was raised in Millet and Wetaskiwin, Alberta. Ronald served in the Army as a Corporal in the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals in Italy, Egypt, and Canada. He passed away on December 4, 1990, in Ottawa, Ontario.
