This book helps honour and preserve the stories of bravery, dedication and service of the many men and women who have fought and continue to fight for Canada. The efforts of the Alberta-NWT Command to preserve these stories, while providing invaluable services and support to veterans, are a testament to your steadfast dedication and compassion. The significance of military service reverberates through the very core of our nation's history. It epitomizes courage, duty, and unwavering allegiance. The valour and sacrifices of our veterans and active service members today, who selflessly served and continue to serve our country, embody the very ideals that define our nation's character. Their stories of bravery, resilience and sacrifice are a beacon of inspiration for current and future generations. Let’s continue to tell these stories so they may forever stand as a reminder to us all of the true cost of freedom and the depth of commitment it entails. Risking one’s life in defence of our beloved Canada is the highest form of honour and sacrifice. I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to those who have fought for our great country in years past, and to those who continue to defend our nation today.
