He served with the Canadian Machine Gun Corps during World War One and was killed in action in Flanders in 1916. Corlet, William George William was born in Edmonton on May 12, 1912 and raised in Edmonton, Innisfree, and Strathmore, Alberta. In 1931, he was transferred to Millet, Alberta to work at Burns Creamery and eventually became its manager. During World War Two, he served in the Royal Canadian Navy on convoy duty for 3.5 years. He held the rank of Chief Stoker Petty Officer and served on “Triangle Red” convoy duty aboard HMCS Moose Jaw and Annapolis. He spent the last 1.5 years at Sidney, Nova Scotia. Following his discharge, he joined the Merchant Navy for 1.5 years and then moved to the West Coast. He worked as a steam engineer in logging camps at Duncan, Fulford Harbor, Ganges, and on North Vancouver Island. He retired toWhite Rock, BC where he passed away in 1988. Crough, Peter William David Peter was born in Bowden, Alberta in 1925 and was raised in Czar, Alberta. He enlisted in the Army during World War Two and served in England, Holland, and Germany for three and a half years. Peter farmed near Millet, Alberta after being discharged. He eventually moved to Wetaskiwin, Alberta where he passed away.
