His father survived four years of hostilities in World War One. Raymond and his brothers and sisters were raised on a soldier settlement farm just south of Woolford, Alberta. He joined the Army in 1942 as a gunner and was killed by a sniper during the invasion and liberation of Holland on January 28, 1945 when he was 22 years old. Although he was engaged to an English girl, he was never married. Churchill, Bert Bert was born in Kitscoty, Alberta in 1921. He served in the Army as a Gunner in England, the Central Mediterranean area, and Continental Europe for more than three years during World War Two. After the war, Bert worked in farming, logging, and in the Post Office in Alberta and Manitoba. He retired to Millet, Alberta in 1983. He passed away in 2005. Clarkson, Thomas K. “Tom” Tom was born in Sussex, England. After immigrating to Canada, he homesteaded in the Chedderville district near Caroline, Alberta in 1912. Tom enlisted in the Army inWorldWar One and was a Vimy Ridge veteran. He lived in Sylvan Lake, Alberta and was a veteran member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 212 in that community. After his wife’s death, he moved to Gibsons Landing in BC. Tom passed away in September 1970. He is buried in the Seaview Cemetery in Gibsons.
