Simpson, Premier of the Northwest Territories The 16th edition of the Military Resource Service Recognition Book pays homage to those who have left their homes and risked their lives to defend our country’s security and democracy while upholding the values that define us as Canadians. In this book you’ll find short stories and photos depicting the heroism and bravery displayed by veterans across Alberta and the Northwest Territories (NWT). Here in the NWT, we understand the important role the Canadian Armed Forces play in keeping residents and communities safe – their dedication and courage helped us through an unprecedented wildfire season last summer. Supporting firefighting efforts and community evacuations, their swift mobilization enabled important frontline work and alleviated strain on the territory's resources, allowing our government to continue to provide essential services to evacuees. The Government of the Northwest Territories extends gratitude to the Alberta-NWT Command of The Royal Canadian Legion and its branches for their unwavering support of veterans and active members.
