THE ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION ALBERTA-NWT COMMAND www.abnwtlegion.com 101 Brissard, John Owen John was born in Leduc, Alberta in 1916. He was raised in Millet and Lacombe, Alberta. John served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War Two with the rank of AC2. He moved to San Francisco, California after the war. He passed away in 1984. John’s brother Charles served in the Army during World War Two. Brooks, Arlene Alice Arlene was born in Boyle, Alberta on May 1, 1923. She served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War Two. Arlene passed away in Boyle on July 16, 1997. Brotzell, Arthur Lewis Arthur was born in Fox Valley, Saskatchewan on April 19, 1920. He joined the Army at the age of eighteen and was stationed in many places before being posted to Calgary for deployment to Korea with the Lord Strathcona Light Horse Regiment “B” Squadron, Special Forces in 1952. When Arthur was wounded, two of his friends received awards for rescuing him under fire. Arthur took up farming after returning to Canada in 1953 and he ran an Army Cadets program in the Brock area for several years. He was President of the Brock Legion and after it closed, he joined The Royal Canadian Legion Eston Branch. When he retired, he transferred to Redcliff Legion Branch 6. As a hobby and for his love of the game, he made a few hundred crib pegs for crib boards. Arthur and another veteran raised money for the mural on the Redcliff Legion Branch wall depicting all branches of the Canadian Forces. They donated money they didn’t need to the Legion in recognition of theYear of the Veteran. Arthur passed away on May 25, 2013.
